Air India Clears Safety Checks on Boeing Fleet 🛫✅

Air India has wrapped up safety inspections on its Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 737 jets, confirming no faults in their fuel control systems. The move comes after India’s aviation watchdog, the DGCA, ordered checks following a fatal Boeing 787-8 crash in June that claimed 260 lives. 🔍

Why the Scrutiny?

The DGCA’s July 14 directive followed a U.S. FAA bulletin warning about potential issues with the Fuel Control Switch (FCS) locking mechanism. While the crash investigation highlighted pilot confusion over engine switches, no mechanical flaws were found in the aircraft itself. 🛠️

Proactive Measures

Air India began voluntary inspections two days before the official deadline, completing them by July 21. The airline emphasized its commitment to safety, aligning with global aviation standards. ✈️

India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) noted no urgent fixes were needed for Boeing or other operators, but the tragedy has sparked renewed focus on cockpit protocols. 💡
