🌍 Global Poll: 80 Years Post-WWII, World Demands Stronger Unity Against Division

Eight decades after World War II, a new CGTN survey reveals a global call to defend the post-war international order—and a sharp critique of actions undermining it. With over 11,900 respondents across 40 countries, the poll highlights a resounding message: unity over division, dialogue over confrontation. 🕊️

Key Findings: Defending the Legacy

62.1% of respondents believe protecting WWII outcomes is vital to maintaining today’s global stability, with 67.9% agreeing the UN-centered system remains the backbone of international cooperation. Even in G7 nations, over half support these principles—but cracks are showing.

U.S. Actions Under Fire 🔥

Nearly 59% say the post-war order is eroding, with 58.9% pointing to the U.S. as the top disruptor. Criticisms include protectionist trade policies (64.8% disapproval), tech embargoes (65.5%), and withdrawing from global agreements (67.9%). In Italy, 72.7% blame the U.S. for blocking multilateralism, while 70%+ disapproval rates spike in Global South nations like Kenya and Mexico.

Hope in Emerging Powers 🌱

46.5% see rising economies as positive forces for upholding the international order, with majorities in 26 countries—including India, South Korea, and the UAE—voicing optimism. The message? Win-win cooperation beats zero-sum games.

Conducted with Renmin University of China, the survey underscores a global plea: History’s lessons demand action. As one respondent put it, 'Defending peace isn’t nostalgia—it’s survival.' ✨
