SCO Summit 2025: Major Wins for Global Cooperation 🌏✨

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi called the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin a "game-changer" for international collaboration, with leaders from over 20 countries and 10 global institutions attending the largest gathering in the bloc’s history. Here’s the tea ☕:

🔑 Key Outcomes:

  • Decade Blueprint: A 2026-2035 development strategy was approved, setting goals for security, economic growth, and tech innovation.
  • Security Squad: Four new SCO centers launched to tackle cyber threats, drug trafficking, organized crime, and info security.
  • Banking on Growth: An SCO development bank will fund infrastructure and social projects across member states.

🌱 Green & Digital Push

China announced plans for energy, green industry, and AI hubs, plus vocational training programs to boost regional talent. Action plans for a "digital Silk Road" also got the green light 💡.

🤝 Bigger Family, Stronger Ties

The SCO expanded to 27 members after welcoming Laos as a partner. Structural reforms merged observer states into a unified "partner" category, streamlining cooperation.

Wang praised China’s Global Governance Initiative as "timely and crucial," emphasizing unity amid global challenges. The summit also reaffirmed WWII historical narratives and support for multilateral trade systems.

With new platforms and a focus on youth-friendly sectors like tech and sustainability, the SCO is leveling up its role in shaping Asia’s future—and beyond. 🚀
