Venezuela Condemns U.S. Maritime Blockade as Illegal

Venezuela has fiercely rejected a U.S.-imposed maritime blockade, calling it a reckless violation of international law 🌊⚖️. The move, ordered by U.S. President Donald Trump earlier this week, sparked immediate backlash from Caracas, with officials accusing Washington of attempting to seize Venezuela’s oil reserves.

"The Caribbean isn’t America’s backyard—it’s governed by international law," declared Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez during a press conference yesterday. He described Trump’s decision as "delusional" and warned it threatens regional stability and global energy security.

Thousands rallied in Caracas to protest the blockade, waving flags and chanting slogans defending sovereignty 🇻🇪. Caracas Mayor Carmen Melendez urged unity against what she called "supremacist" threats, emphasizing that "defending our nation is everyone’s duty."

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum also weighed in, urging the UN to mediate and prevent further escalation. Meanwhile, Venezuela’s ruling party vowed to resist "colonial interference," framing the blockade as part of a broader effort to control the country’s natural resources.

With tensions rising, the dispute highlights growing friction over energy politics in Latin America—and a test of international resolve to uphold maritime freedoms. 🔥🌎
