🎬 China’s Cinema Legacy Shines in New Documentary Celebrating 120 Years

As 2025 marks two major milestones – the 80th anniversary of China’s victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and 120 years of Chinese cinema – a new documentary is stealing the spotlight. I Will Be There After My Wandering unveils the untold story of Wan-go Weng, a cultural pioneer who became cinema’s quiet ambassador 🌏✨.

📽️ The film traces Weng’s journey: fleeing Japanese invasion as a student, building a film career in the U.S., and creating 40+ documentaries about Chinese culture when global awareness was minimal. 'He turned lenses into bridges,' says one interviewee, among 33 experts and family members featured.

💡 After 2.5 years of production across 10 cities, the documentary unearths rare archives and personal letters – revealing how Weng spent decades crafting what filmmakers call 'a love letter to his homeland.' Yet his name remains largely unknown, making this 60-minute tribute long overdue.

🎞️ As streaming platforms explode with content, this project asks: Whose stories shape our view of history? For young creators today, Weng’s cross-cultural legacy offers fresh inspiration 🤝.
