Johns Hopkins Celebrates Lunar New Year with Global Flair 🐎✨

International students at Johns Hopkins University rang in the Year of the Horse this week with red lanterns, dumplings, and a cultural showcase organized by the Chinese Students and Scholars Association. The Feb. 15 gala transformed campus into a vibrant hub of lion dances, traditional music, and cross-cultural connections 🌏🎶.

Over 500 attendees from 40+ countries snapped selfies with giant panda decorations and competed for limited-edition plush mascots gifted by China Media Group. 'This felt like home away from home,' said Malaysian engineering student Li Wei, clutching his new stuffed horse. 'I got to explain firecracker traditions to my Brazilian roommate!'

University leaders praised the event as part of ongoing efforts to support Asia-connected students, who now make up 34% of JHU's international population. With Lunar New Year celebrations continuing through February, similar events are planned at Stanford and MIT this weekend 🎉.
