Iranian Official Slams US-Israel Strikes as “Resource Domination”
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei declared on Monday that recent US-led military actions aim to seize control of the country’s resources, calling the attacks “brutal aggression.” The remarks come amid escalating conflict following joint US-Israel strikes that began in late February 2026.
🔍 “The US goal is clear: dominating other nations’ wealth,” Baghaei stated during a Tehran press conference. He emphasized Iran’s focus on defense while criticizing Washington’s role in West Asia: “Their presence fuels division and insecurity.”
💣 The February 28 attacks reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, military leaders, and civilians. Iran retaliated with missile and drone strikes targeting Israeli and US bases regionally.
🌐 Despite the conflict, Baghaei noted over half of foreign diplomatic missions remain operational in Iran, with safety “fully ensured.” Analysts suggest this could signal potential backchannel negotiations.
