US-Iran Talks Hit Snags as Israel-Lebanon Dialogue Gains Momentum 🌍⚡️

High-stakes negotiations between the US and Iran faced early turbulence today as both sides arrived in Islamabad for talks aimed at cooling Middle East tensions. The Pakistan-mediated dialogue, set to officially begin Saturday, follows a fragile 14-day ceasefire agreement reached earlier this week.

Iran's 71-member delegation, led by Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, emphasized Tehran's distrust of Washington during Friday's arrival. 'We come with goodwill but zero illusions,' Qalibaf stated, demanding immediate US fulfillment of asset-unfreezing promises and ceasefire implementation in Lebanon before substantive talks begin.

US Vice President JD Vance struck a cautiously optimistic tone before departure: 'We're ready to make history – but we won't be played.' The diplomatic chess game intensified as former President Donald Trump warned via New York Post interview that US warships are 'reloaded and ready' to strike if talks fail.

Key sticking points include Iran's enriched uranium stockpile and reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Trump controversially claimed the vital waterway would reopen 'automatically, one way or another' – rhetoric that drew sharp reactions from regional observers.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif framed the negotiations as a 'make-or-break phase' for regional stability. As technical teams work through night in Islamabad, the world watches whether this diplomatic push can outpace escalating threats.
