Finnish Trade Minister Heads to Shanghai’s CIIE Expo 🚀🇫🇮

Finland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio is set to jet off to Shanghai next month for the China International Import Expo (CIIE), one of the world’s largest trade fairs. 🌐 The event, running from November 4 to 8, will see Tavio leading a delegation aiming to ‘boost export promotion and trade’ between Finland and China—a partnership he calls ‘crucial’ for Finnish businesses. 💼

Why Shanghai? 🤔

With over 200 Finnish companies already rooted in Shanghai—the largest concentration in China—the city is a natural hub for networking. Tavio highlighted Finland’s fourth consecutive national pavilion at CIIE, showcasing innovation in tech, sustainability, and more. 📈

Beyond Shanghai: Shenzhen & Hong Kong 🚅

After the expo, the delegation will head south to Shenzhen, China’s tech powerhouse, before wrapping up in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. 🏙️ Tavio’s trip underscores Finland’s push to deepen economic ties in key Asian markets.

‘This isn’t just about trade—it’s about building bridges,’ he said. 🌉
