In a recent letter to the ninth congress of the China Law Society, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the crucial role of law societies in fostering law-based governance.
Xi called for law societies to break new ground, highlighting their importance in advancing legal research, supporting the rule of law, raising public awareness, and training legal professionals. 🏛️✨
He stressed that law societies must uphold the Party's overall leadership while serving the broader goals of both the Party and the country. By doing so, they can contribute significantly to Chinese modernization and ensure sound legislation, strict law enforcement, and impartial administration of justice.
At the congress, Chen Wenqing, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs, echoed these sentiments. He urged legal professionals to consolidate their confidence in the rule of law and dedicate themselves to advancing law-based governance.
The meeting, chaired by Wang Chen, director of the China Law Society, also recognized and awarded exemplary groups and individuals within the law society system nationwide. 🏆
As China continues to evolve, the collaboration between law societies and government bodies remains essential in maintaining a robust and fair legal system that supports the nation's growth and modernization.
