China Pushes Back: Vows to Defend Interests Amid U.S. AI Export Restrictions

China is standing firm against the recent U.S. restrictions on artificial intelligence (AI) exports, promising to protect the rights and interests of its enterprises. 🇨🇳🤖 At a press conference on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun criticized the U.S. for tightening export controls on advanced AI technology, including AI chips and model parameters.

Guo argued that the U.S. actions politicize and weaponize economic and technological issues, disrupting market rules and the global economic order. He emphasized that AI should be a shared asset for humanity, not a tool for increasing development gaps between nations. 🌍✨

The spokesperson highlighted that these restrictions not only harm Chinese businesses but also affect global supply chains and economic stability. He warned that such policies could lead to a new Cold War in technology, undermining international cooperation. 😟🔧

Despite the challenges, Guo affirmed China's commitment to global AI governance. The country has already proposed initiatives like the Global AI Governance Initiative and is working with the United Nations to promote AI capacity building. China aims to create an open and inclusive environment for AI development that benefits all nations. 🤝🌐

As the tech landscape evolves, China remains dedicated to collaborating internationally to ensure AI advancements are responsible and universally beneficial.
