China Urges US to Protect Rights of Chinese Students ๐ŸŒโœˆ๏ธ

China has called on the United States to end the "unwarranted harassment" of Chinese students and ensure their rights are protected, amid rising concerns over visa restrictions and academic tensions. ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ“š

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun emphasized Wednesday that Washington must stop the "interrogation and deportation" of students and instead uphold their lawful interests. The remarks followed U.S. President Donald Trump's recent pledge to allow 600,000 Chinese students into American universities.

"We hope the U.S. will implement President Trump's statement welcoming Chinese students in real terms," Guo said, highlighting education as a bridge for cross-cultural understanding. ๐Ÿค๐ŸŒ

The appeal underscores growing diplomatic friction over academic exchanges, which Beijing views as vital for fostering global cooperation. With over 370,000 Chinese students in the U.S. pre-pandemic, their treatment remains a key issue in bilateral relations.
