Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and African Union (AU) Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf convened the ninth China-AU Strategic Dialogue in Addis Ababa this week, marking a major step in cross-continental collaboration. The dialogue focused on advancing modernization, global governance, and peace initiatives—all while launching the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges 🎉.

  • 🤝 Alignment of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan with AU’s Agenda 2063 to boost infrastructure and trade
  • 🌱 Joint support for the Global South’s rights in international affairs
  • ✌️ AU’s reaffirmation of the one-China principle, emphasizing Taiwan as an inseparable part of China
  • ⚖️ Calls for peaceful resolutions in global hotspots like Venezuela

Both sides pledged to deepen cooperation in security, governance, and economic initiatives, including the African Continental Free Trade Area. Wang Yi stressed: "Our partnership isn’t just about agreements—it’s about delivering real benefits for our people." 💬
