In a mind-blowing fusion of art and science, 80 paintings by teenagers debuted simultaneously aboard China’s space station and at Beijing’s Capital Museum on Wednesday. The #GalaxyCanvas exhibition marks the first time artwork has been displayed in orbit while mirrored on Earth 🌍✨.
The pieces – created by teens aged 12-18 – explore themes of space exploration and environmentalism. One standout work, ‘Moonbase Harmony’, even traveled to the Tiangong space station physically, floating alongside astronauts during the showcase 🖼️👨🚀.
‘This isn’t just art – it’s a dialogue between Earth and space,’ said museum curator Li Wei during the launch event. The project involved 3D scanning to perfectly replicate the orbital display, with livestreams allowing astronauts to discuss the works with young artists 📡🎥.
With China planning more ‘art-science collabs’ this year, could your next gallery visit require a spacesuit? 👩🎨🚀
