Travel Goals! Visa-Free Entries to the Chinese Mainland Surge This May Day ✈️

Who doesn't love a good holiday getaway? 🌍 This year's May Day break was an absolute whirlwind of activity, and the numbers are finally in! More international travelers than ever are choosing to explore the Chinese mainland, thanks to some seriously welcoming travel policies.

According to the National Immigration Administration (NIA), over 436,000 international travelers entered the Chinese mainland under visa-free policies during the five-day holiday that wrapped up this past Tuesday. That is a whopping 14.7% increase compared to the same time last year! 📈

So, what's driving the hype? It's all about accessibility. Currently, the Chinese mainland has rolled out unilateral visa-free policies for 50 countries and offers convenient 240-hour transit visa-free arrangements for 55 countries. It's basically a green light for explorers, students, and business pros to dive into the culture and markets without the usual paperwork stress. ✨

The energy didn't stop there. Total foreign arrivals during the break hit 1.255 million, up 12.5% year-on-year. If we look at the bigger picture, border inspection agencies handled a staggering 11.279 million cross-border trips by both Chinese and foreign travelers. 🚉✈️

The peak of the action happened on May 2, when a record 2.529 million trips were processed in a single day. Whether it was by plane, train, or car, the movement was real—with inspections of aircraft, vessels, trains, and motor vehicles increasing by 16.6% compared to the 2025 holiday period.

From digital nomads to culture seekers, the world is clearly eager to connect. With these policies making it easier than ever, the Chinese mainland is becoming a top-tier destination for the global youth community! 💬🌏
