Hong Kong’s First Taikonaut Hits Space! 🚀 Meet Li Jiaying on Shenzhou-23

Space just got a little more exciting! 🌌 In a moment that has left the whole of Hong Kong buzzing with pride, Li Jiaying has officially become the first taikonaut from the Hong Kong SAR to venture into the stars. As part of the Shenzhou-23 crew, Li is currently aboard the Tiangong space station serving as the team's payload specialist. 🚀✨

The journey began this past Sunday with a successful liftoff from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Chinese mainland. A delegation from Hong Kong was there to witness the launch, describing the event as a historic milestone that has made the city incredibly proud. 🎆

But this isn't just about the ride; it's about the future of tech and science. Professor Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR, highlighted that the city is aligning its innovative growth with the national 15th Five-Year Plan. He emphasized that Hong Kong will continue to play a key role in the country's space development. 🛰️

The impact is already hitting home in the academic world, too. Professor Anderson Shum, Vice-President (Research) at City University of Hong Kong, shared that this achievement encourages the science community to "dream bigger" and be more ambitious with their research. 🎓🌟

From the bustling streets of Hong Kong to the silence of the cosmos, this mission proves that for the next generation of innovators and dreamers, the sky is definitely not the limit! 🌍💫
