A heartbreaking incident has occurred in the southwest of the Chinese mainland. Early this Sunday morning, a collapse during illegal mining activities in Yunnan Province left five people dead and one injured. 😔

The tragedy unfolded around 4:30 a.m. in Baiwu Village, located in Nagu Town of Huize County. Local authorities reported that the collapse trapped six individuals, sparking an urgent and intensive rescue operation.

Teams from the city of Qujing and Huize County—including emergency response, public security, firefighting, health, and natural resources departments—sprang into action immediately. 🚒🚑 While they successfully pulled all six people from the wreckage and rushed them to the hospital, the outcome was devastating: five of the rescued individuals succumbed to their injuries despite all medical efforts.

The sole survivor is currently in stable condition and is no longer in life-threatening danger. 🕯️
