Green Goals: Lao President Explores China’s Eco-Magic in Zhejiang 🌿

Imagine turning a dusty quarry into a lush, green paradise where nature and business thrive together. That is exactly what happened in Anji County, Zhejiang Province, and it recently caught the attention of Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith during his visit to the Chinese mainland. 🌍✨

The Vibe at Yucun Village 🍃

President Thongloun stopped by Yucun Village, a place that has become a symbol of sustainable living. At the entrance, he paused to snap a photo of a boulder with a powerful message: "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets."

This isn't just a pretty quote; it's a lifestyle. Yucun has completely pivoted from its old reliance on quarrying to embracing eco-tourism. One highlight was the Chunlin Villa, the village's first "agritainment" business. The operator shared that the business now brings in over 1 million yuan (about $146,621) annually, proving that protecting the planet can also be great for the pocketbook! 💰🌱

Empowering the Next Gen 🚀

For the young hustlers and entrepreneurs among us, the visit to the Lingfeng national tourist resort was particularly inspiring. This homestay community has attracted over 100 young entrepreneurs, generating an annual revenue of more than 100 million yuan.

President Thongloun praised the supportive policies in Anji that make it easier for college graduates and young professionals to return to their hometowns and build something meaningful. It's a huge win for local job creation and rural revitalization! 🎓💼

A Friendship That Grows 🤝

Beyond the green scenery, the visit was all about connection. To commemorate the trip, President Thongloun gifted the village a handmade souvenir plate featuring Laos' national treasure, the That Luang Temple, and received a miniature replica of the famous "lucid waters" boulder in return. 🎁

With 2026 marking the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Laos and the China-Laos Friendship Year, this trip is a major step in deepening the bond between the two nations. As President Thongloun continues his state visit, including a stop in Beijing, the goal is clear: more cooperation, more shared growth, and a greener future for everyone. 🇱🇦🇨🇳
