🌍 Kenyan Engineer Connects Africa with 2Africa Undersea Cable Vision

Meet Kevin Kaburu: a tech whiz from rural Kenya whose dream of bridging Africa’s digital divide is making waves. 🌊 After studying telecommunications engineering, Kaburu joined China Mobile to work on the 2Africa project – the world’s largest undersea internet cable initiative that’s set to wrap 45,000 km around the continent by 2024.

“Growing up without reliable internet felt like watching the world move past us,” says Kaburu, who hails from a village where connectivity was a luxury. “But with projects like 2Africa, we’re not just catching up – we’re building highways for innovation.” 🚀

Once completed, the cable will boost internet access for 1.3+ billion people across 33 African countries. Kaburu envisions this sparking an ed-tech revolution: “Imagine students in remote areas accessing global classrooms, or farmers using apps to predict weather patterns. That’s the future we’re wiring together.” 📱
