Honoring Heroes: Chinese Martyrs Laid to Rest in Shenyang 🌹

In a solemn ceremony today, the remains of 13 Chinese People’s Volunteers (CPV) martyrs were buried in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, marking the 13th repatriation of heroes who sacrificed their lives during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953). 🇨🇳

The martyrs, returned from the Republic of Korea (ROK), were honored with military honors and floral tributes. Over 70 years ago, these soldiers crossed the Yalu River to fight alongside the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), with 2.9 million CPV troops deployed and over 360,000 casualties recorded.

“Their bravery transcends time,” said a ceremony attendee. “This is how we ensure history remembers.”

Since 2014, China and the ROK have collaborated to repatriate 1,023 sets of remains, a gesture hailed as a bridge for peace. The event underscores ongoing efforts to honor historical ties while fostering modern diplomacy.
