New Agreement: Sierra Leone Welcomes First Batch of US Deportees 🛫

Something new is happening in West Africa! 🌍 Sierra Leone has officially confirmed the arrival of the first group of migrants deported from the United States, marking the start of a new arrangement between the two nations.

The news was confirmed by Chernor Bah, the Minister of Information and Civic Education, who shared that the deportees landed at the Freetown International Airport recently. ✈️

But here is the interesting part: the flight didn't just carry Sierra Leoneans. Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Timothy Musa Kabba revealed that the first batch included 25 migrants from several neighboring countries, including Senegal, Ghana, Guinea, and Nigeria.

So, what's the deal? 🤔 According to Kabba, Sierra Leone is set to receive up to 300 nationals from member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) every year. To keep things manageable, the agreement caps arrivals at a maximum of 25 deportees per month.

While the flights have started, there is still a big question mark hanging over the situation: will these migrants be allowed to build a new life in Sierra Leone, or will they be sent back to their home countries? For now, the world is watching to see how this unfolds. 💬✨
