French Open Heartbreak: Chinese Stars Exit Early at Roland Garros 🎾💔

It was a tough Tuesday on the clay courts of Paris! 🇫🇷 Two of the Chinese mainland's tennis hopefuls, Zhang Shuai and Zhang Zhizhen, faced an early exit after suffering first-round defeats at Roland Garros.

For veteran Zhang Shuai, it was a challenging day at the office. She fell to American player Ann Li with a score of 6-4, 6-2 in a match that lasted one hour and four minutes. This loss marks a difficult stretch for the 37-year-old, extending her streak of first-round exits in Grand Slam women's singles to four consecutive tournaments, dating back to last year's Wimbledon Championships. 📉

The rivalry between the two has been a steep hill to climb, as Zhang had lost all three of her previous encounters with Li. But wait—it's not all over for her! ✨

While the singles dream might be on pause, Zhang is keeping the energy high in the doubles arena. She'll be continuing her French Open journey partnering with Elise Mertens in the women's doubles and Tim Putz in the mixed doubles. We're rooting for her to find her rhythm and smash it in the doubles draws! 🎾💪
