Early Insulin Therapy Cuts Stroke Risk in Type 2 Diabetes 🚀

Great news for those newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes! 🌟 A groundbreaking study by Chinese scientists has shown that starting insulin therapy early can significantly reduce the risks of stroke and hospitalization due to heart failure.

Led by Professor Weng Jianping from Anhui Medical University, along with experts from the University of Science and Technology of China, Southern Medical University, and Peking University, the research team conducted a comprehensive 24-year observational study. They monitored 5,424 patients across the country who were newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

The results are impressive: patients who began insulin therapy early experienced a 31% lower risk of stroke and a 28% reduced risk of hospitalization for heart failure compared to those who did not receive early treatment. 🏥❤️

Moreover, the therapy improved important biomarkers related to low-grade inflammation and endothelial function, both of which are key indicators of cardiovascular health.

These findings provide compelling evidence for adopting early insulin therapy as a first-line treatment option for newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients. The study was published in the International Journal of Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy in early June.
