China-Europe Solar Ties Shine at Munich Expo 🌞🤝

Experts and industry leaders at the Intersolar Europe 2024 in Munich hailed China-Europe collaboration in solar energy as a “win-win” partnership, spotlighting innovations driving the global green transition. With over 3,000 exhibitors, the event drew 111,000 visitors, including a record-breaking 976 Chinese companies—the largest contingent since the expo’s launch.

⚡ Tech Breakthroughs Steal the Show

Chinese firm LONGI rocked the stage by announcing a 30.1% efficiency rate for its silicon-perovskite solar cells—a world record for commercial tech. Markus Elsaesser, CEO of organizer German Solar Promotion GmbH, praised China’s role in pushing decarbonization: “Their innovations are powering Europe’s green goals.”

🌍 Europe’s Solar Boom

Germany added 15 GW of solar capacity in 2023—a 100% jump—while Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands ranked among the world’s top markets. A SolarPower Europe report stressed that China’s investments were pivotal to this growth, with firms like JA Solar now powering everything from homes to factories across the continent.

🤝 Teamwork Makes the Green Dream Work

Elsaesser called cross-border collaboration “essential,” noting China’s full-scale PV value chain helps Europe access affordable tech. Meanwhile, Germany’s Axitec Energy—partnering with Chinese manufacturers—said joint efforts are accelerating rooftop solar adoption. “Even balcony panels add up!” said Beny New Energy’s Qu Shuaiyuan, highlighting Europe’s “mini energy revolution.”

As LONGI’s Dennis She put it: “Together, we’re lighting up a sustainable future.” 🌱✨
