Bulgaria Votes Again: 8th Election in 5 Years Sparks Hope for Stability 🇧🇬✉️

Bulgaria just held its eighth parliamentary election since 2021 this Sunday, as 6.6 million voters cast ballots in a high-stakes bid to end years of political gridlock. With 14 parties, 10 coalitions, and one independent candidate competing, the results could finally break the cycle of instability that’s haunted the Balkan nation. 🗳️

Polling stations opened worldwide, allowing Bulgarians in 55 countries and regions to participate. Exit polls will drop tonight, with final results expected by April 23. 🔥

This election follows Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov’s resignation in December 2025 after mass protests over economic policies. His coalition, formed after October 2024 snap elections, lasted barely a year. 💼 "Voters are exhausted," says Sofia-based analyst Maria Ivanova. "But turnout today shows people still believe in democracy—even if it’s on shuffle mode."

Why so many elections? Bulgaria’s National Assembly requires a simple majority to form a government. Since 2021, no party has secured lasting control, creating a loop of snap votes. 🔄 Will 2026 be the year the music stops? Stay tuned. 🎧
