🌍 The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has sounded the alarm: conflict is wrecking schooling for over 100 million children across Arab states.
\n📚 In at least 15 countries, the upheaval has left 52 million school‑age kids grappling with closed schools, limited access, or hurried shifts to remote learning. Even before the latest surge, nearly 30 million children in the region were already out of school.
\n⚠️ The situation in the Gaza Strip is especially dire. An astonishing 97.5 % of its schools have been damaged or destroyed, leaving more than 637,000 children without a classroom.
\n💡 Educators and aid workers warn that without urgent action, an entire generation risks losing the foundational skills needed for future jobs, peacebuilding, and community resilience.
\n🔎 “Education is not just a classroom; it’s a lifeline,” a UNESCO spokesperson said, urging global leaders to prioritize safe learning environments and sustained funding.
\n👉 What can you do? Stay informed, support organizations on the ground, and amplify the voices of those fighting to keep learning alive in conflict zones.
