Sudan Crisis: RSF Leader Vows to Keep Fighting Despite Peace Calls 🇸🇩

The situation in Sudan is taking a tense turn. 📉 Rapid Support Forces (RSF) leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, better known as Hemetti, has made it clear that he isn't backing down. In a recent address to his officers, Hemetti vowed to push forward with the conflict, signaling that his forces are geared up for a prolonged struggle even as the world calls for peace.

Hemetti didn't hold back, accusing Sudan's military leadership of blocking the road to peace. He questioned whether a war could simply stop from one side, arguing that while the RSF has been open to negotiating, the army views any move toward peace as a sign of weakness. 🚩

One of the most shocking reveals? The scale of the RSF's growth. 📈 Hemetti claimed that since the fighting kicked off in April 2023, his forces have ballooned from about 143,000 fighters to a massive 450,000. According to him, this surge shows growing support for his group, while he claimed the Sudanese army is leaning on Islamist-linked factions and allied militias.

But while the leaders trade accusations, the real cost is being paid by the people. 💔 The humanitarian crisis in Sudan is currently one of the worst on the planet. The UN reports that this war has displaced a staggering 14 million people and absolutely devastated the country's infrastructure. Famine warnings are looming, and the violence continues to spiral.

Despite the chaos, Hemetti claims the RSF is exercising restraint and called for the creation of a national army that is free from political or ideological influence. However, with his statement that his forces could fight for "decades" if necessary, the road to a ceasefire looks longer and steeper than ever. 🌍💬✨
