Denmark Finally Does It! 🇩🇰 New 4-Party Gov Formed After Record Wait

The wait is finally over! After a political marathon that felt like it would never end, Denmark's caretaker Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has officially formed a new four-party government. 🥳

This wasn't just any coalition-building process—it was a record-breaker. Taking 69 days to finalize, this is now the longest period the country has ever spent trying to set up a government. Talk about a test of patience! ⏳

Speaking after a meeting with King Frederik X yesterday, Monday, June 1, Frederiksen revealed the new dream team. The cabinet will be a mix of the Social Democrats, the Socialist People's Party, the Social Liberal Party, and the Moderates.

It wasn't exactly a walk in the park, though. Frederiksen described the negotiations as "long and difficult," admitting that while many things were tough, the process simply "had to succeed." 🤝

To give you some backstory: Denmark headed to the polls on March 24. While Frederiksen's Social Democrats stayed on top as the largest party, they lost a significant number of seats. This left the parliament in a bit of a deadlock, with neither the left-leaning nor right-leaning blocs holding a clear majority. 📉

Frederiksen first tried to build a broad coalition but hit a wall. Things only shifted when center-right negotiations, led by acting Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, collapsed, prompting King Frederik X to ask Frederiksen to give it another go on May 23.

What's next? 📅 Today, Tuesday, June 2, the government is set to present its political program. Everyone is buzzing to see how these four different parties will actually work together to run the country. Stay tuned! ✨
