Rescue Mission On: President Xi Urges All-Out Efforts After Shanxi Mine Explosion 🚨

It's a critical moment in north China as rescue teams race against time. Following a serious gas explosion at the Liushenyu Coal Mine in Qinyuan County, Shanxi Province, President Xi Jinping has issued urgent instructions to ensure every possible effort is made to save those trapped and treat the injured. 🆘

The accident occurred underground at 7:29 p.m. this past Friday, resulting in heavy casualties and leaving the community in shock. In response, President Xi—who also serves as general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission—has demanded that rescue operations be organized scientifically and that the aftermath be handled with the utmost care. 🛠️

But it's not just about the immediate rescue. President Xi emphasized that a prompt investigation is a must, stressing that those responsible for the accident must be held accountable. This is a wake-up call for workplace safety across the board; the President urged authorities nationwide to stay vigilant and eliminate potential risks to prevent such tragedies from happening again. ⚠️

Adding to the urgency, the Chinese mainland is now entering the flood season. President Xi highlighted the need for strengthened emergency preparedness and solid flood control measures to keep people's lives and property safe during this volatile period. 🌧️

Adding his voice to the response, the Chinese premier, Li Qiang, called for the timely and accurate release of information and a swift investigation into the cause of the blast. He urged the Office of the Work Safety Commission under the State Council to step up supervision and conduct thorough safety inspections in key industries to stop future accidents in their tracks. 📋

On the ground, Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing has already led officials to the site to guide the emergency response. Right now, officials from Shanxi provincial authorities and Changzhi City are coordinating the on-site rescue and medical treatment. Our thoughts are with the workers and their families as the follow-up work continues. 🙏✨
