Iranian Academic Warns US Blockade Threatens Fragile Ceasefire

🚢⚠️ A Tehran-based academic is sounding the alarm on what she calls a dangerously fragile ceasefire between Iran and the US.

Setareh Sadeqi, an assistant professor at the University of Tehran, says the US move to guide vessels through the Strait of Hormuz—combined with its continued blockade of Iran—is pushing the situation toward what she describes as "a different form of war."

"If we can still call it a ceasefire, it looks like we are facing a different form of war, with continued exchanges of hostilities and aggression," Sadeqi explained.

🔒 The Strait of Hormuz Factor

According to Sadeqi, Iran is using its strategic control over the vital waterway as leverage in response to US pressure. The strait handles roughly 20% of the world's oil shipments, making it one of the most critical chokepoints in global trade.

"Iran will not enter nuclear talks while the blockade remains in place," Sadeqi emphasized, suggesting that diplomatic progress remains stalled until economic pressure is lifted.

🤝 Hope on the Horizon?

Despite the tension, there's a glimmer of hope. Iran has recently submitted a new peace proposal through Pakistan, while the US claims it's working to help ships stranded near the vital waterway.

Will diplomacy prevail, or will the standoff continue? 🌍💬
