Denmark’s Political Marathon Ends! New 4-Party Govt Formed 🇩🇰

Talk about a long wait! 😱 After 69 days of intense negotiations—the longest in Denmark's history—caretaker Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has finally crossed the finish line. On Monday, she announced the formation of a brand new four-party government, bringing some much-needed stability back to the table.

Who's in the new squad? 🤝 The new cabinet is a powerhouse mix featuring the Social Democrats, the Socialist People's Party, the Social Liberal Party, and the Moderates. While Frederiksen described the negotiations as "long and difficult," she stressed that despite the hurdles, the process "had to succeed."

The backstory: How did we get here? Let's rewind to the parliamentary elections on March 24. While Frederiksen's Social Democrats stayed the largest party, they suffered some significant losses. This left the parliament in a bit of a deadlock, with neither the left-leaning nor right-leaning blocs holding a clear majority. 📉

It wasn't exactly a smooth ride to the finish. Frederiksen's first attempt at a broad coalition didn't pan out, and shortly after, a center-right bid led by acting Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen also collapsed. Finally, on May 23, King Frederik X stepped in and asked Frederiksen to make one last push—and this time, it clicked!

With the government now officially locked in, the new political program was presented this past Tuesday. We're keeping a close eye on how this new alliance will shake things up in Denmark! 🌍✨
